The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, will be among other top dignitaries to grace this year’s edition of the Ghana Alma Mater Programme (GAMP). Togbega Lo I, Paramount Chief and President of the Wli Traditional Council, will serve as Chairman of the occasion, highlighting the significance of the programme.
GAMP is an annual national school support challenge that competitively mobilizes financial contributions from old students of all second-cycle schools in Ghana towards the development of their former schools. The programme is under the distinguished patronage of the Hon. Minister for Education and runs with the approval and support of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana TVET Service, Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS-Ghana), and Association of Principals of Technical Institutes (APTI).
This year’s edition, scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2025, will be held on the theme “Reimagining Stakeholders’ Roles in Education: Unleashing the Potential of Alumni.”
The National Coordinator of GAMP, Togbe Dzidoah I, disclosed that suitable measures have been outlined to ensure the successful hosting of the Honours Day and launch. He mentioned that all expected alumni and institutions have been duly informed to partake in the event.
Togbe Dzidoah I also acknowledged the support from corporate entities and individuals for backing the initiative. With the theme in focus, this year’s GAMP promises to be an exciting and inspiring event that brings together alumni, educators, and stakeholders to discuss the role of stakeholders in education and how to unleash the potential of alumni.
The event aims to foster collaboration, support, and development of second-cycle schools in Ghana, and it is expected to make a significant impact on the education sector.
