Alan Kyerematen, a prominent contender for the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has conveyed his appreciation to the delegates of the Special Electoral College for their endorsement, positioning him as one of the candidates to vie in the forthcoming November 4th primaries.
In an official press statement dated Sunday, August 27, 2023, Kyerematen expressed gratitude for the guidance of divine providence throughout his journey. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the delegates for their trust in his candidacy and aspirations.
“I wish to use this opportunity to thank the Almighty God for His grace and mercy in guiding my path this far,” said Kyerematen. “I would also like to express my profound appreciation to the Delegates of the Special Electoral College who voted for me in this initial selection process.”
However, Kyerematen also conveyed his deep concern over a regrettable incident involving a brutal assault on his polling agent in the North East Region. He emphasized that such acts cast a shadow on the integrity of the internal democratic process within the NPP.
“I would, however, like to express my deep sorrow about the brutal assault on my polling agent in the North East Region. This is an indelible blot on the integrity of the internal democratic process within the NPP.”
Kyerematen disclosed that his A4P Campaign Coordination team is currently analyzing the outcomes of the Special Electoral College Election. He shared his intention to provide a public address in the coming week, outlining the strategic path ahead for his campaign.
He reassured his supporters, particularly those at the grassroots level, that the journey remains guided by faith. “I wish to reassure my teeming supporters, particularly those at the grassroots level, that the battle is still the Lord’s, and that those who wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed.”
The NPP presidential primaries are slated for November 4, 2023, and the victorious candidate will become the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.

In response, the Communications Director for the NPP in the North-East region, Walibe Amos, stated that the incident involving the agent was not an attack by supporters of another candidate but rather an altercation between the agent and the regional youth organizer of the party.
