£3 million fleet confiscated from comanchero motorcycle club now serves Istanbul police.

In a noteworthy move, a fleet of exotic supercars worth £3 million, seized from the Istanbul branch of the Hells Angels-style Comanchero Motorcycle Club, has been repurposed as Turkish police cars. The 21 high-specification vehicles, including a Ferrari, Bentley, and other luxury models, were confiscated in November from the biker gang known for its criminal activities.

The confiscated supercars, which include a Ferrari 488 GTB, Bentley Continental GT, and an electric Porsche Taycan Turbo, among others, have been repainted in white and blue. They now bear the crest of the Turkish capital’s police force, equipped with sirens and warning lights for law enforcement use.

Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, emphasized that these converted vehicles would now serve the police force and the nation, signaling a symbolic shift from criminal organizations to law enforcement.

The cars were seized following the arrest of Hakan Ayik and 36 others on charges related to drug trafficking and money laundering. Hakan Ayik, an Australian-born suspected drug smuggler associated with the Comanchero Motorcycle Club, has been a long-time fugitive on Australia’s most-wanted list. The biker gang has international roots, including connections in Australia and south-east Asia.

Hakan Ayik, dubbed the “Facebook gangster” for flaunting wealth on social media, is believed to have led the local crime ring associated with the Comanchero Motorcycle Club. The seized vehicles were part of the assets confiscated from the gang’s Istanbul branch.

The repurposing of these high-end vehicles into police cars underscores the authorities’ commitment to repurpose seized assets for public service. The move also represents a tangible step in reclaiming resources from criminal organizations for the benefit of law enforcement and the community.
