Samuel Uwikunda from Rwanda has been appointed as referee for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup semifinal 1st leg game between Zamalek SC from Egypt and Ghana’s Dreams FC.

The 26-year old who has been very busy in recent times, officiated at the 2023 CHAN in Algeria and the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire. He is currently among the best young referees in East Africa who are poised to excel in the refereeing career following a remarkable breakthrough six years ago.

Uwikunda will be assisted by Ivanildo Meirelles de Oliveira Sanches Meirelles De O Sanche Lopes from Angola (Assistant I), Modibo Samake from Mali (Assistant II), and Boubou Traore from Mali (Fourth Official).

Other officials for the match include, Omar Jummah Abdulsayid Abdulsadiq, Match Commissioner from Libya, Aboubacar Doumbouya, Referee Assessor from Guinea, Joshua Robert Knipp, General Coordinator from South Africa, Oussama Ouardirhi, Security Officer from Morocco, Akhona Zennith Makalima, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) from South Africa and Abongile Tom, Assistant VAR from South Africa.
