Twifo Praso Senior High School is facing numerous challenges that hinder the quality of education it provides. The school urgently needs government support to address the lack of essential logistics, teaching materials, and staff housing.
Nana Kumasah Krampah (II), Omankrado of Gomoa Asempayin and Divisional Omankrado for Gomoa Akyempim Nyimfa Division, also a former student who paid an official visit to the school on Monday, 29th April, 2024 highlighted that the school lacks buses, staff cars, and vital resources, making it difficult for students and staff to commute and perform their duties effectively.
Speaking to AccraDailyPost in an exclusive interview, the former student mentioned that the school also lacks teaching materials, hindering the delivery of quality education. Furthermore, the school has no housing unit for teaching staff, forcing them to seek accommodation outside the school premises, resulting in staff lodging in various locations and making it challenging to maintain a sense of community and camaraderie among staff members. Out of 109 teaching staff, only 30 are housed within the school premises.
“Despite the school administration’s efforts to address these issues, no tangible support has been received. The school’s infrastructure is in a dilapidated state, and the lack of support from the government and other stakeholders has left the school feeling neglected and frustrated”, He lamented.
Nana Kumasah Krampah II expressed his disappointment and concern about the situation, emphasizing the need for urgent government intervention to address the challenges facing the school.
He urged the government to provide the necessary support to ensure that Twifo Praso Senior High School can provide quality education to its students.
