The 2024 Black Star Marathon is gearing up to be a monumental event, with sponsors and partners lining up to support the cause. The marathon, organized by Runathon Foundation, aims to promote kidney health awareness and raise funds for dialysis treatment.

Sun Seekers Tours, a leading tourism company, has joined forces with the Black Star Marathon to provide transportation, logistics support as well as offer opportunities to athletes to tour some parts of the country including the Cape Coast castle, Kakum national Park among others.

“We believe in the importance of promoting kidney health and supporting a great cause. We’re excited to be part of this event and offer our services to ensure a smooth and successful marathon, said a spokesperson for Sun Seekers Tours.

Hollard Insurance, a leading insurance provider, has also come on board as a sponsor. “Our mission aligns with the values of the Black Star Marathon. We’re committed to supporting initiatives that promote health and wellness, and we’re excited to introduce our insurance packages to the runners.” A representative said.

Paying critical attention to health, the Trust Hospital, a renowned healthcare provider, will provide medical support and services during the event.

According to them, “We’re proud to be part of the Black Star Marathon. Our team of medical professionals will be on hand to provide pre-screening, first aid, and any other medical assistance required.”

Winsome Group Ghana, a leading branding and marketing support company, will provide branding and printing services for the event. “We’re thrilled to be part of the Black Star Marathon. Our team will work tirelessly to ensure that the event is well-branded and memorable by providing certified running vests, T-shirts for officials, among others.”

The Black Star Marathon will take place on Saturday, 27th July, 2024, at the Independence square in Accra. The event will feature a 10km mass run/walk, a 10km regular/everyday wheelchair, 42.2 km marathon, and a 42.2km racing wheelchair competition. Winners will walk home with cash prizes and products from sponsors.

He disclosed measures outlined to ensure successful organization.

He said, “We are providing maximum security with support of the Ghana Police Service and ambulances will also be on standby. We are expecting the medals and trophies to arrive by close of tomorrow, so we are set to go. Everything is in place.”
