The Ghana Alma Mater Programme (GAMP) has crowned Kpando Technical Institute from the Volta region as the winners of the 2023 season. GAMP is an innovative initiative that mobilizes financial contributions from old students to support the development of their alma maters.

The program’s significance lies in its ability to harness the collective resources of old students to make a meaningful impact on their former schools. For Kpando Technical Institute, the win is a testament to the dedication and commitment of its alumni.

During the National honors day for 2023 and official launch of the 2024 season in Accra on Wednesday, 31st July, 2024, Kpando Technical Institute who emerged winner as best supported school in category A, saw them win the overall award and coveted trophy in addition to cash prize of GH2,500, symbolizing their achievement. 

The GAMP-2023 National honors day also saw best supported National schools being awarded: St. Mary Seminary SHS – category C and Okomfo Anokye SHS – category B. They both walked home with cash prizes GH1,200 each.

Major Paul K. Amegah (RTD), representing the Kpando Technical Institute, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for the initiative.

“We are thrilled to be part of this noble cause, and we pledge to rally behind it,” Major Amegah said. “I urge other educational stakeholders to support GAMP, as it has the potential to transform our schools and shape the future of our nation.”
