Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, widely recognized as Drogba from the popular series YOLO, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $280,000 for specialized medical treatment abroad. Diagnosed with demyelination in March 2024, Drogba has been undergoing continuous treatment but now requires advanced care that has depleted his financial resources.
In an Instagram post on August 14, Drogba expressed gratitude to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his friends for their support and donations so far. However, he emphasized that the cost of his ongoing treatment, which includes specialized care in pain medicine, physical therapy, and other medical services, has become overwhelming. The fundraiser aims to cover the cost of admission, medical treatment, and other necessary therapies.
Drogba has also shared that his condition has led to complications such as Sleep Apnea Syndrome, requiring the use of a CPAP machine to assist his breathing during sleep. He pleaded with the public for financial assistance, stating, “Any contribution, big or small, will be welcomed with gratitude and will help support my medical expenses.”
