The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) of Ghana has announced plans to fully digitize its services in the coming years, making vehicle licensing processes more accessible and convenient for Ghanaians. Deputy CEO of Operations, Prince Opoku Edusei, shared the update during the 25th anniversary celebration of the DVLA.

Edusei emphasized that the move toward digitalization aims to reduce the cumbersome nature of current processes. With the new system, customers will be able to apply for services, make payments, and receive documentation from the comfort of their homes.

He added that the digital transformation will require customers to visit DVLA offices only for biometric data capture. The new system will allow for greater efficiency, with services such as license renewals and vehicle registration to be done entirely online.

The DVLA’s push toward modernization is part of a broader agenda to improve public services and address concerns of corruption that have plagued the agency in the past.
