The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has called on passport applicants who made payments before April 1, 2024, to complete their biometric capture by October 18, 2024. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the invalidation of their applications, as new passport fees have taken effect under the Fees and Charges Regulations, 2023.

Under the updated fees, a 32-page passport now costs GHC500, while a 48-page passport is GHC644. Expedited services are available for GHC800. The ministry is urging applicants to act promptly to avoid losing their application fees and having to start the process anew under the new pricing structure.

The government has taken this step following the upward revision in passport fees, aiming to streamline passport issuance processes. Applicants who have not completed their biometric capture are encouraged to visit their selected Passport Application Centres (PACs) to finalize their applications as soon as possible.

This change comes amid efforts to improve the efficiency of passport services in Ghana, with the government also looking into further reforms that will enhance the overall customer experience for passport applicants.
