The Ghana Police Service has reopened several major roads in Accra after a three-day closure prompted by the Democracy Hub protest. The protest, led by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, resulted in the arrest of over 40 demonstrators, including Barker-Vormawor himself. The police enforced the road closures to prevent further disruptions after failed negotiations over the protest route.

The Democracy Hub protest caused significant traffic delays in Accra, with roads blocked from September 21 to 24. Demonstrators had occupied key intersections, leading to clashes with police. According to the police, the road closures were necessary to maintain public order.

In a statement issued on September 23, the Ghana Police Service thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the closures. Traffic flow has since resumed, with officers deployed to ensure smooth transportation across the city.
