Dreamz Ladies triumphed as champions of the 2024 Women’s Premier Super Cup on Sunday, September 29th, at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, defeating Northern Zone Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-1 in a thrilling final.

Despite starting their campaign with a 4-1 loss to Ampem Darkoa, Dreamz Ladies bounced back by overpowering Police with a 5-1 victory, followed by a 4-0 win over Berry Ladies to secure a spot in the semifinals.

In the semifinals, Dreamz Ladies shocked five-time Women’s Premier League Champions Hasaacas Ladies with a 2-1 victory, earning their place in the final.

Facing Ampem Darkoa for the second time in the tournament, Dreamz Ladies sought revenge. A 14th-minute goal by Sarah Nyarko gave them an early lead, which was doubled in the second half by captain Stella Nyamekye from the penalty spot. Ampem Darkoa’s Victoria Banful scored a late consolation, but their hopes of lifting the trophy were dashed.

This victory marks Dreamz Ladies’ first major trophy since their establishment in 2006 and the first time a Northern Zone team has won the Women’s Super Cup since its inception in 2021.

Sarah Nyarko was named the tournament’s Discovery of the Year, while captain Stella Nyamekye took home the Player of the Tournament award.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies earned silver, and Hasaacas Ladies claimed the bronze.
