The Ghana Police Service has initiated a nationwide manhunt for individuals involved in the violent clash between supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nima, Accra. The altercation, which occurred on Sunday, October 13, 2024, resulted in nine injuries. The police have restored calm in the area, and seven of the injured have been treated and discharged, with two still receiving medical care.

An intelligence-led operation is underway to apprehend the identified culprits, who will face justice. The violence erupted between NPP and NDC supporters from the Zongo communities of Nima, Mamobi, and Newtown, with viral videos showing physical altercations and gunshots. One NDC supporter was reportedly hit by a bullet, sparking outrage.

The police are committed to ensuring the perpetrators are held accountable, as the public calls for swift action to prevent further political violence in the run-up to the 2024 elections.
