A tragic incident unfolded in Kasoa Krispocity, Awutu Senya East Municipality, as the body of a 37-year-old Ivorian man was discovered behind a local filling station.

Reports suggest he poisoned himself after his girlfriend informed him of her pregnancy, sparking concerns about potential fallout from her strict father. According to GHOne News reporter Yaw Boagyan, the man had been seen wandering around the area over the weekend, yet received no help from residents.

Locals found a phone beside the body, allowing them to contact his girlfriend through saved numbers. She confirmed his identity, revealing he had lived in Ghana’s Volta Region but left abruptly after learning of her pregnancy. Sources indicate that he may have feared legal or personal consequences, prompting him to travel to Kasoa, where he allegedly ingested poison.

Eyewitnesses also criticized the police for their delayed response, citing calls they made when they first spotted him lying unconscious. His body has been transferred to the police hospital for autopsy and preservation as authorities continue their investigation.
