The NGO Founders Global Network, in collaboration with Blessed Care International, inaugurated its Ghana Chapter on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Best Western Plus Hotel in Accra.

The event brought together over 50 NGO founders, queen mothers, and volunteers for a two-day workshop, which included discussions on youth empowerment, national development, and the official launch of the Ghana Chapter.

Day one of the workshop featured an Educational Impact Project at Nungua Senior High School, while day two focused on the roles of nonprofits in creating lasting societal change. Attendees explored key topics such as advocacy, essential service delivery, empowerment systems, social cohesion, sustainable development, branding, accountability, and the importance of database systems for NGOs.

In his remarks, Global Network President Mr. Caius Eze emphasized the importance of establishing a unified structure for nonprofit organizations worldwide.

“There is a strong need to create this global umbrella where we connect all nonprofit organization founders and also redefine the purpose of NGOs,” he said. Mr. Eze further outlined plans for future projects, saying, “What happened here today is the talking stage, and hopefully, by next year in July, we will be working on projects that will empower the people, create jobs, and train them to be valuable in the labor market.”

Director of Blessed Care International, Mr. Isaac Kottey, highlighted the significance of collaboration within the sector.

“There is a need for founders to share ideas and partner with others to achieve a common goal, hence the need for the Ghana Chapter,” he stated.

The newly appointed Ghana Chapter President, Mr. Benjamin Kojo, called for collective support to achieve the chapter’s vision. “I urge co-founders, traditional leaders, and individuals to support me in moving the chapter to greater heights and leaving a lasting legacy for the coming generation,” he appealed.

Queen Mother Nana Akyere Nkwefua Sika of the Nana Animah Badea Foundation expressed her gratitude to the organizers. “Our communities cannot rely on the government for support, so we are glad NGOs like this always visit our communities and donate to our people. We will champion this cause for our communities to benefit from it,” she said.

The inauguration marks a significant milestone in uniting nonprofit leaders and creating innovative solutions to address societal challenges.

The Ghana Chapter is poised to build on this momentum and create sustainable opportunities for youth empowerment and community development.
