Accra Excel, in partnership with Blessed Care International Foundation, recently organized a impactful waste management session with students from Davreg International School. The event aimed to educate students on the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.
The session began with an interactive discussion led by an environmental expert, covering key topics such as waste segregation, recycling, and reducing plastic use. Students learned about the different types of waste and their impact on the planet. Following the discussion, 20 students were selected to participate in a practical session on reusing plastics to sustain the environment.
The highlight of the event was a hands-on workshop conducted by Mckingtorch Africa. Students participated in a waste segregation challenge, sorting biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. They also engaged in a DIY recycling workshop, crafting paper bags and plant holders from waste materials. Additionally, a composting demonstration taught students how to turn kitchen waste into organic compost.
The session concluded with a powerful pledge from students to adopt eco-friendly habits and make a positive impact in their communities. Furthermore, Accra Excel and Blessed Care International Foundation launched an Environmental Club at Davreg International School. The club aims to promote sustainability and environmental protection, with its young members serving as ambassadors in their communities.
