Updates on the Investigation into Ahmed Suale’s Tragic Death
Ghana Police have arrested Daniel Owusu Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, in connection with the 2019 murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale. Koranteng, a former colleague at Tiger Eye Private Investigations, was accused of sharing sensitive photos of the deceased with a politician before fleeing Ghana. He returned and was apprehended at a salon in Amasaman-Adease.
Reports indicate that Koranteng relocated to the UK during the initial investigation but returned to Ghana in secrecy. The FBI played a key role in uncovering communication between the suspect and Suale days before the journalist’s tragic death. The investigation also involved Suale’s phone being sent to the USA for further analysis.
Ahmed Suale was assassinated in Madina, Accra, shortly after contributing to an investigative piece for the BBC. His death shocked the nation, prompting ongoing efforts to bring those responsible to justice. This recent arrest marks significant progress in the investigation.
