Washing Bay Hustle to Viral Music Promotion Stardom

Ananzo Official, now known as Ghana’s “washing bay promoter,” turned a humble car-washing job into a springboard for his education and music promotion career. Since finishing Junior High School in 2015, he worked at a washing bay to fund his senior high school education as a day student. The income covered his school expenses, allowing him to balance work and studies while nurturing his passion for music.

His big break came in 2024 with a viral video promoting King Paluta’s hit song Makoma. Ananzo shared his process on the Matters Day podcast, explaining that he spends two days learning a song’s lyrics and rhythm before filming promotional videos. His dedication and authentic style quickly gained traction, catching the eye of music fans and artists alike.

Global music star Davido, a Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, praised Ananzo’s work and promised him $5,000 for promoting his music. When Davido reposted one of Ananzo’s videos, his TikTok following skyrocketed from 91,000 to over 600,000. This surge in popularity marked a turning point, transforming Ananzo into a social media sensation.

Ananzo’s story is a testament to resilience and creativity. From washing cars to amplifying chart-topping tracks, he continues to inspire young Ghanaians chasing their dreams. While still working at the washing bay, Ananzo is now a recognized figure in music promotion, proving that hard work and passion can open unexpected doors.
