Masked Armed Robbers Attack Total Fuel Station in Kansaworodo
A gang of eight masked armed robbers attacked the Kansaworodo branch of Total fuel station in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis during the early hours of Monday, March 4, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, the robbers arrived around 1:00 AM, wielding pump-action guns, and demanded the keys to the safe from the attendants. However, the station manager, who had the keys, was not on the premises at the time.
Details of the Attack
The fuel station had already closed for the day, and the attendants were sleeping in a room when the robbers arrived.
- Five employees, a washing bay attendant, and a truck driver were present when the attack occurred.
- A female attendant who woke up to urinate was the first to notice the robbers and alerted her colleagues.
- Two attendants attempted to escape but were chased by the armed men, who fired warning shots. One managed to hide, but the robbers later found her. They, however, assured her that she was not their target.
- A taxi driver passing by the station was shot at, damaging his windscreen and causing minor injuries.
- A driver who had parked at the station was tied up, and another attendant was struck with a pinch bar.
- After failing to access the safe, the robbers stole mobile phones from the victims before escaping in an unregistered minibus.
Police Investigations Underway
Officials of the fuel station have confirmed the incident, and the Kwesimintsim Police have launched an investigation. However, they have declined to provide further details at this time.
