2025 TGMA Winner Praises Kumasi’s Musical Dominance

Beeztrap KOTM, named New Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, declared Kumasi as Ghana’s foremost hub for musical talent during an interview with Nana Romeo on May 23, 2025. He argued that Kumasi surpasses other cities like Accra and Tema in producing exceptional artists.

The “Fly Girl” hitmaker highlighted Kumasi’s historical significance in Ghana’s music industry, citing legendary figures such as Daddy Lumba, Sarkodie, and Okyeame Kwame, all of whom emerged from the city. He emphasized that Kumasi has consistently been a central force in nurturing musical talent.

Beeztrap noted that the current music scene reinforces Kumasi’s dominance, driven by the rise of the Asakaa movement and artists like Oseikrom Sikani, King Paluta, Amerado, and Strongman. He asserted that the city continues to lead with a vibrant pool of contemporary talent.

According to Beeztrap, Kumasi has produced more artists than any other region in Ghana, maintaining its status as the epicenter of the nation’s music industry across generations and genres.
