Obinim Stated The Consequences of Seeking Spiritual Help Outside His Church
Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, has issued a strong warning to his followers. He cautioned his congregants not to attend or seek prayers from other churches, as doing so could lead to serious spiritual repercussions.
During a sermon on Sunday, 13 April, Bishop Obinim expressed his intolerance towards loyal congregants, known as “Abroso” members, visiting other ministries for spiritual assistance. He warned that such visits could result in spiritual problems between him and the members in question.
In a widely circulated video, Bishop Obinim stated, “I don’t want to see any Abroso member going to another church for prayers. If a loyal member leaves for another church, there will be a spiritual problem between us. What exactly are you going there to look for?”

Obinim further emphasized the severity of these spiritual problems, suggesting they could manifest as spiritual attacks. He questioned the reasons behind seeking help from other churches, asking, “Is it for marriage? Financial support? Or medical reasons?”
Known in Ghana for his claims of performing miracles and his often controversial declarations, Bishop Obinim noted that medical emergencies were the only acceptable reason for seeking help outside his church. The sermon has sparked renewed debates about spiritual authority and religious freedom among churchgoers in Ghana.
