D-Black’s Studio Loses Equipment, Unreleased Songs in Break-In

Black Avenue Muzik, a top music label in Accra owned by rapper D-Black, was broken into on May 24, 2025. Thieves stole valuable studio equipment and unreleased songs, causing a major setback for the label. The burglary happened at their North Kaneshie office, a hub for Ghana’s music scene.

The stolen items include high-end recording gear, computers, and hard drives with new music from artists signed to the label. D-Black reported the crime to the police, who are now investigating. The loss of unreleased content could hurt upcoming projects and artists’ careers.

Police found signs of forced entry at the office, with doors and windows damaged. They are checking nearby security cameras and talking to witnesses to find clues. No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is active, with hopes of recovering the stolen items.

Black Avenue Muzik, started in 2012, has launched big names in Ghana’s music industry, like Sefa, who left the label in 2024. This theft is a blow to the label’s work to promote new talent. D-Black urged fans to share any information that could help catch the thieves.

The music community has rallied behind the label, with many artists expressing shock and support. The police are asking anyone with tips to come forward as they work to solve the case and return the stolen equipment and music.
