Former President John Dramani Mahama has presented a cash prize of $10,000 to the Black Challenge team for emerging as champions of the 2024 Africa Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON).

The Black Challenge team showcased remarkable determination and skill to defend their title, defeating Morocco 2-1 in the finals held in Egypt.

In his remarks, the former president praised the team’s dedication and hard work, stating, “I am proud to support such a talented and resilient team. Your victory is a testament to your skill and determination.”

According to the president of NPC Ghana, Mr. Samson Deen, the Black Challenge has secured a spot in the 2026 World Amputee Football Cup in Panama with their triumphant victory in the AAFCON.

The achievement has cemented their place in amputee football history and promises more exciting matches to come.
