In a powerful display of community action and environmental stewardship, Blessed Care International Foundation has successfully carried out a major clean-up exercise at one of Ghana’s vital landing beaches. The initiative, which brought together fisherfolk, volunteers, and local authorities, aimed to restore cleanliness to the heavily polluted shoreline, creating a safer and healthier environment for fishing activities.
This clean-up is part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to protecting marine ecosystems and supporting the livelihoods of fishing communities. With heaps of plastic waste and debris cleared from the site, the exercise not only improved hygiene conditions but also raised awareness on the importance of keeping our coasts clean.

“We believe a clean beach is key to a sustainable fishing industry and a healthy community,” said Melvin Godfrey Tackey, Director of Blessed Care International Foundation. “We are grateful to all our partners, sponsors, and especially the fisherfolk who actively participated in this initiative.”

The Foundation plans to conduct similar clean-ups every four months and is calling on more stakeholders and fishing companies to come on board and support this crucial cause.
