Bofoakwa Tano left it late to beat Nations FC 1-0 in a grueling encounter that travelled into extra time.

The newly promoted clubs clashed in the semifinal of the Division One Super Cup at the Dr. Kyei Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Nations FC had the crowed rooting for them but their opponents limited the Zone Two champions to half chances, especially in the first half.

The game travelled beyond 90 minutes after failing to produce a winner within regulation time.

Bofoakwa Tano lifted up their game and pinned their opponents in their half until they found the back of the net in the 113th minute.

Elijah Addai broke the deadlock after latching on to the goal bound shot to fire home.

Nations FC mounted pressure on the remaining minutes as they pushed for the equalizer but their effort came to nought as Bofoakwa Tano held on to win 1-0 – making their first appearance in the Division One League Super Cup final.

In the other semifinal match, former champions Skyy FC maintained their dominant run in the competition with a slender win against Kpando Heart of Lions.

Star man Baba Musah scored the spot to give his side passage to the final and to register his 4th goal of the competition. The diminutive attacker has been the most important part of the jigsaw puzzle for Skyy FC since the commencement of the tournament.

Skyy FC thus make their second Super Cup final following a similar feat in 2021 – as Bofoakwa Tano also make their debut appearance in the final.

The 2023 Division One League final will take place on Friday, September 1,2023 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex at Abrankese.
