Kenyan Court Grants 21-Day Detention for Suspects in British National’s Murder

A Kenyan court has granted police 21 days to detain two suspects linked to the murder of British national Campbell Scott, whose body was found stuffed in a bag in a remote area of eastern Kenya.

The 58-year-old Scott had arrived in Kenya for a conference but was reported missing before his body was discovered on February 22, 2025, hidden in a shrub in Mukuyuni, approximately 110 kilometers (68 miles) from Nairobi.

Last Moments and Arrests

According to police reports, Scott was last seen leaving his hotel in Nairobi with an unidentified man. The two then took a taxi to a residential area, where Scott was never seen again.

Following an investigation, two Kenyan men were arrested and linked to the murder. The taxi driver, who transported Scott and the unidentified man, has also been detained and is currently assisting with the investigation.

Ongoing Investigation and Autopsy Findings

Kenya’s government pathologist, Johansen Oduor, stated that an autopsy conducted last week was inconclusive. Authorities are now awaiting toxicology test results to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigations to establish the motive behind the murder and whether more suspects were involved.

The case has raised security concerns, especially regarding the safety of foreign visitors in Kenya.
