Chief of Staff, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa and Others Honored at Philanthropic Awards
Advocate for Fair Legal Access Ghana (AFLAG) hosted a prestigious event at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on November 2, 2024, to recognize distinguished Ghanaian personalities making significant impacts. This year’s Philanthropic Awards and Charity Night honored 20 individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to humanity.
The honorees included Lifetime Achievement award recipient, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Humanitarian Heroine, Rev. Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee, and Philanthropist, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse. Other notable awardees were Mrs. Femi Asante, Human Rights Defender, Mr. Kofi Job, Humanitarian Philanthropist, and Nii Nortey K. Oquaye, Humanitarian Hero.
The event also recognized Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as the Most Impactful MP, while Dr. Vincent Acorlor received the Healthcare Hero award. Rev. Dr. Nanayaa Tina Owusu-Prempeh was honored as a Faith-Based Philanthropist, and Mr. Ernest Adomako, politician, was named Champion of Hope.
Additional awardees included H.E. Dr. Lillian Sally Addo, International Humanitarian, Adiza Ibrahim, Social Change Advocate, Augustus Koranteng Kyei, Social Media Philanthropist, Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq, Youth Philanthropist, and Danita Yeboah (Afronita) as Children Empowerment Champion.
The sports sector was represented by Andre Dede Ayew, who received the Sports Philanthropist award. Etwereso Mabaa Hemaa was recognized for Community Impact, while Minerals Commission received the CSR Award. Praise TV was honored as Media Philanthropist, and Ibrahim Appiah received the Excellence in Giving award.
These individuals and organizations have demonstrated exceptional commitment to philanthropy and humanitarian causes, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
According to Ama Nupe Demuyakor, CEO of AFLAG, the prestigious event also served as a platform to create sustainable networking opportunities.
“Bringing all these prominent personalities together is also a form of networking where other people get to meet and through that, major collaborations could be formed, and greater impact would be made into society for all to benefit.” She emphasized.
“As Mahatma Gandhi once said, ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.’ Tonight, we celebrate those who have dedicated themselves to serving others, and we hope their examples will inspire a new wave of philanthropists and humanitarians in Ghana.”
“By recognizing these outstanding individuals and organizations, AFLAG aims to encourage more people to make a positive impact in their communities and promote a culture of philanthropy and humanitarianism in Ghana”. She added.
In attendance were politicians, traditional leaders, sports personalities among others.
