An Accra High Court has delivered its judgment in a three-year divorce case involving former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan. The court ruled in favor of annuling the marriage contracted in 2013 between Gyan and Gifty, and made consequential directions regarding the paternity of their three children.
Asamoah Gyan had initially denied paternity, which led to the court conducting a DNA test, confirming that he is indeed the father of the children.
The court also issued other directives, including the requirement for Asamoah Gyan to pay Gifty Gyan a monthly sum of 25,000 Ghana cedis to support the upbringing and welfare of the children. This stipend excludes expenses like school fees, medical care, flight tickets, and other childcare-related costs.
In terms of property distribution, Gifty is entitled to the following:
a. Asamoah Gyan’s UK mansion
b. A four-bedroom house at Spintex in Accra
c. Ownership of land designated for a fuelling station in Prampram
d. She will also receive a BMW and an Infiniti.
