A Circuit Court in Accra, presided over by Her Honour Basilia Adjei-Tawiah, has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of two individuals, Akpene Asempa, a 64-year-old retired nurse, and Mark Tetteh Laweh, a military officer, for failing to appear in court on three consecutive occasions. They are facing charges of conspiracy, attempted crime, and engaging in land guard activities.

According to the prosecution, the case involves the complainant, Dawood Akwasi Agyemang, a businessman and caretaker of a property owned by Lawyer Paul Abalga. On August 27, 2024, Asempa allegedly hired a backhoe operator to demolish a fence wall on the property, with military officers, including Laweh, providing protection. However, police intervened before the demolition could take place, arresting the accused and the backhoe operator, while other military officers fled the scene.

Chief Inspector Wisdom Alorwu has confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend additional accomplices. The court has now ordered the immediate arrest of Asempa and Laweh for repeatedly failing to attend hearings.
