Suspect Caught After Killing Two Former Achimota Students

The driver responsible for the hit-and-run accident that killed two former Achimota School students, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, has been apprehended by the police. The tragic accident occurred on March 7, 2025, along the Achimota Highway, leaving the Achimota School community and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), in mourning.

According to Alice Safoa, an aunt of the late Davida, the suspect was arrested following a police chase on the night of the incident. Reports indicate that after the accident, the driver sought refuge at a hospital, fearing an attack from eyewitnesses.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, Davida succumbed to her injuries at 4 a.m., followed by Lilian later that morning. Bystanders expressed frustration that the driver fled the scene without offering assistance.

The police have confirmed that the suspect remains in custody, and an investigation is underway. Many Ghanaians have renewed calls for stricter road safety enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
