Over 100 young girls between the ages of 5-15 are currently participating in the 2024 “Me Overcoming Me” empowerment basketball camp, a 2-day event that commenced on Saturday, December 14, and will conclude on Sunday, December 15.
The camp is being organized by the Greater Accra Basketball Association in collaboration with Swain Basketball Academy, New York Square, Jordan Nwora Foundation, Shelissa Thomas, and FIBA Africa Zone 3.
The ongoing camp at the University of Ghana is geared towards building sustainable mental health among young and talented girls. Through a combination of basketball training and empowerment sessions, the camp aims to equip the participants with the skills and confidence needed to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
The “Me Overcoming Me” empowerment basketball camp is a unique initiative that seeks to promote the holistic development of young girls through sports. By focusing on mental health and empowerment, the camp organizers hope to create a positive impact that extends beyond the basketball court.
The camp has brought together a team of experienced coaches and mentors who are providing guidance and support to the participants. With its emphasis on empowerment and mental health, the “Me Overcoming Me” camp is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of the young girls participating.
