Kwabena Adu-Boahene Intercepted at Kotoka International Airport

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), on allegations of financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and misappropriation of public funds.

The arrest, which took place on the evening of March 20, 2025, was a joint operation between EOCO investigators and the Attorney-General’s Department. Adu-Boahene was intercepted at Kotoka International Airport upon arrival on a British Airways flight from London Heathrow.

GhanaWeb sources at the airport revealed that the operation was personally overseen by EOCO’s Acting Deputy Executive Director, Raymond Archer, who was present several hours before Adu-Boahene’s arrival. EOCO operatives, armed with an arrest warrant, took him into custody immediately after his flight landed.

While EOCO has not released an official statement on the details of the case, sources indicate that the former national security figure from the previous administration is under serious investigation for causing financial loss to the state. Authorities are expected to provide further updates in the coming days.
