Suspected gas explosion at University of Ghana’s Bush Canteen destroys several shops
A gas explosion at the Bush Canteen of the University of Ghana wreaked havoc on several shops, inciting alarm among students and vendors. The incident, which took place on Wednesday evening, resulted in thick smoke billowing into the air as flames consumed multiple structures within the well-known market area.

Witnesses described hearing a tremendous explosion before the fire quickly spread to nearby stalls. Firefighters and emergency personnel arrived swiftly to tackle the blaze. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far.
Authorities have commenced an investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion, with initial reports pointing to a possible gas leak.
