Farouk Zakari has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Accra West District Football Association (DFA) following a successful election held this morning at the Indafa Park in Mamprobi.
Zakari, the incumbent, faced off against William Morton in a tightly contested race. Of the 37 delegates from Division Three and Two Juvenile clubs who participated in the election, Zakari secured 22 votes, while Morton garnered 12 votes.
In the Executive Council elections, Patrick Atta Gyedu and Emmanuel Adjiri Sackey emerged as the Colts club representatives. Gyedu led with 16 votes, while Sackey received 15 votes.
The Division Three elections were uncontested, with three candidates standing for election, ensuring a smooth process.
Zakari’s victory marks another term for him at the helm of the Accra West DFA as the district continues its efforts to develop and promote football at the grassroots level.
