A Thursday morning fire has destroyed over 15 structures at Circle Odawna in Accra. The blaze erupted in the early hours and was contained by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), whose prompt response prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby warehouse and over 200 other structures.

Eyewitnesses noted that the fire broke out close to the site of a recent incident that had similarly damaged numerous wooden structures in the area. GNFS officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire and have advised residents and business owners to follow strict fire safety practices, particularly in this high-risk zone.

The incident has prompted local authorities to stress the importance of fire safety awareness to prevent further occurrences in Accra’s densely populated regions.
