Ghana’s newly imported train was involved in an incident during the test run

According to the prosecution, the accused individuals, knowing that the railway lines were inaccessible to vehicles, attempted to use the railway lines as a shortcut to get to Juapong. They placed stones on the railway lines to create a path for the truck to cross over, but the truck got stuck. Despite this, they left the scene without warning oncoming trains.

The accident occurred during a test run of a new Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) Train from Tema to Mpakadan, which collided with the truck that was stuck on the railway lines at Abortia. The train and the truck sustained significant damage, leading to further investigation and legal action against those involved.
