The Ghana Alma Mater Programme (GAMP) has officially launched its second season in Accra, with the theme “Impact through Give-Back; Alumni Factor”. The initiative aims to mobilize financial contributions from old students of all second-cycle schools in Ghana to support the development of their alma maters.

GAMP is an annual national schools support challenge that provides a platform for old students to give back to their former schools. The program seeks to institute a strategic national reward framework that recognizes and rewards commitment, passion, and pride of belonging to an alma mater group in Ghana.

The launch event, which took place on Wednesday, 31st July 2024, also saw the presentation of awards to last season’s winners. The gesture serves as a motivation for old students to actively participate in the development of their alma maters.

According to the program coordinator, Togboe Dzidoah I, “The GAMP initiative is crucial in harnessing the collective resources of old students to make a meaningful impact in their alma maters. We believe that by giving back, old students can make a significant difference in the lives of current students and the development of their schools.” He said.

GAMP Season 2 promises to be an exciting and competitive season, with old students from various schools vying to make a positive impact on their alma maters. The program’s success relies on the active participation and commitment of old students, and the launch event marked the beginning of an exciting journey.

As Togboe Dzidoah I emphasized, “Let us come together to make a difference in our alma maters. The future of our schools depends on our collective efforts.” With GAMP Season 2 underway, old students have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on their schools and pave the way for future generations.
