The Ghana Federation of American Football (GFAF), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), has successfully ended phase one of its 10-day coaching clinic at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium. The clinic, which took place from May 12th to 16th, 2025, brought together 16 regional Physical Education Coordinators from across the country.

The clinic focused on introducing and training participants in the fundamentals of American Flag Football, a non-contact version of the sport that emphasizes teamwork, agility, and strategic play.

Mr. Mohammed Osman Nkosi, Vice President of GFAF, appreciated the regional coordinators for their massive collaboration and dedication during phase one. He encouraged them to strive for more in the second phase.

Some participants in an interview called for more of such educational clinics to enable them understand the various sports, and enhance teaching and learning across their schools and sectors.

The participants benefited from vital sessions designed to equip their understanding of the game, including team, offensive, and defensive foundation, positional foundation, and team strategy execution. Well-equipped coaches and instructors from the United States took the participants through various theoretical and practical sessions.

The GFAF’s coaching clinic aims to promote American Flag Football and equip participants with the necessary skills to develop the sport in Ghana. The successful conclusion of phase one sets the stage for the next phase, scheduled from 19th to 23rd May, 2025 which promises to be exciting with strategic measures outlined for the participants.
