The Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) has announced that the Ghana National Cycling Team will not participate in the 2025 CAC Road Championships scheduled to take place in Kenya from November 19th to 22nd, 2025.

The decision was made due to a scheduling conflict with the country’s flagship cycling event, the Tour du Ghana, which will be held from November 13th to 24th, 2025.

The Tour du Ghana is a key pillar of Ghana’s national cycling calendar and cannot be rescheduled due to firm commitments made with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders. The GCF had received a correspondence dated October 7, 2025, regarding the championships, and after careful consideration, the decision was made to prioritize the Tour du Ghana.

Despite the absence from the championships, the Ghana Cycling Federation remains committed to the ideals of the Confédération Africaine de Cyclisme (CAC) and to promoting cycling across the African continent.

The GCF values the importance of collaboration and mutual understanding among cycling federations and looks forward to continued partnership with the CAC.

The Ghana Cycling Federation’s decision highlights the challenges faced by national sports federations in balancing competing priorities and commitments. However, the federation’s commitment to promoting cycling in Ghana and beyond remains unwavering.

The GCF has expressed gratitude for the understanding and support of the CAC and other stakeholders, and looks forward to continued collaboration in the future.
