Ghana to Host IPRA Conference 2025 and Golden World Awards


Accra, Ghana – June 3, 2025: Ghana will make history as it hosts the 2025 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Conference and Golden World Awards (GWA) Gala for the first time. H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana and Fellow of IPR Ghana and APRA, will serve as host.

Organised in partnership with the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, and the African Public Relations Association (APRA), the event will gather global PR leaders, policymakers, and award-winning communicators in Accra for a knowledge-sharing experience.

Themed “Global Realities and Innovative Communications,” the conference will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Facility from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (GMT). Two major sessions will focus on:

  • Public Relations (PR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Communication
  • Sustainability and Climate Change Communication

Africa’s digital future, ethical AI integration, and the impact of illegal small-scale mining (galamsey) will be explored. Panellists will also discuss behaviour change and sustainability messaging.

  • Arik Karani – President, APRA
  • Nataša Pavlović Bujas – President, IPRA

Top global voices in AI, sustainability, and PR will also contribute.

The day will close with the prestigious IPRA Golden World Awards Gala at 7:15 PM at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, supported by Stratcomm Africa, Emirates, and Mövenpick.

This year marks IPRA’s 70th anniversary and includes the official inauguration of its 2026 President.
