The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has thrown its weight behind the upcoming PruRide 2025 cycling event, a move that promises to elevate the popularity and impact of the occasion.
A team from the event’s organizing committee on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the GOC headquarters, where they were warmly received by GOC President Richard Akpokavie and other key officials. During the meeting, the organizers extended an exclusive invitation to the GOC to participate in the event, which aims to promote health, sustainability, and the cycling sport.
President Akpokavie commended the organizers for their vision of bringing people together from all walks of life to participate in the event.
He noted that the inclusivity of PruRide 2025 was truly commendable, highlighting the potential for the event to make a significant impact on the lives of participants. The GOC’s support is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event, which is open to both cyclists and non-cyclists.
The PruRide 2025 team was led by Gifty Owusu, Head of Sustainability, and Frederick Duodu Takyi, Head of Marketing & Communications. They were joined by Richmond Quarcoo, a Board member of GOC and President of The Ghana Squash Association, Nana Mankattah II and Mohammed Shaaban, Secretary General of the Ghana Cycling Federation.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the organizers to share their vision with the GOC team and discuss ways to work together to make the event a success.
The 2025 PruRide has been scheduled for Sunday, 31st August, 2025, from the Independence square.
As the event approaches, the organizers are working tirelessly to ensure that it meets the expectations of participants and spectators alike.
