The Ghana Police Service bid a heartfelt farewell to General Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah, a devoted and diligent officer who served his nation with unwavering commitment. A pre-burial service was held at the St. George’s Catholic Church, National Police Training School (NPTS), Tesano, Accra on Friday, 14th July 2023, to honor the fallen hero.
In a moving tribute, the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, expressed the profound sorrow and heaviness felt by the entire Police Service over the tragic loss. Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah joined the Ghana Police Service as a General Recruit on 3rd January 2017 and graduated as a General Constable on 6th September 2017 after undergoing rigorous training at the Police Public Safety Training School (PPSTS), Pwalugu, in the Upper East Region.
Throughout his entire Police career, he served solely at the National Protection Unit (NPU) in the Greater Accra Region, demonstrating unwavering dedication and professionalism. His commitment to duty instilled a profound sense of security and trust within the communities he served.
Promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal on 1st January 2022, Callistus continued to excel in his role until his untimely passing on 22nd June 2023. His exemplary service and sacrifice will forever be remembered by his colleagues and the nation.
The Ghana Police Service pledged to honor Callistus Amoah’s memory by steadfastly continuing their mission to maintain a peaceful and secure nation, upholding law and order beyond measure. As the service mourns the loss of their fallen brother, they express their confidence that God will glorify Himself through their ongoing efforts to protect the people of Ghana.
