The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force, has rescued the two female victims of kidnapping captured on video which went viral.
ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police, confirmed the women are safe and in the care of the Nigerian Police Force. “They are alive. They are fine,” she said on Citi FM, praising the collaborative effort that led to the arrest of eight suspects—three in Nigeria and five in Ghana.

The growing role of social media in exposing crimes and driving law enforcement action in West Africa is remarkably better these days. Also not forgetting the importance of cross-border cooperation in tackling transnational kidnapping rings. Investigations are ongoing, with police promising further updates.
