Ghana’s Black Loopers Gear Up for West Africa Regional Championships
The Senior National Table Tennis Team, Black Loopers, is set to represent Ghana at the upcoming West Africa Regional Championships in Nigeria. The tournament, scheduled to take place from July 16th to 19th, 2025, promises to be a thrilling competition, with top table tennis players from the region expected to participate.
The tournament serves as qualifiers for the 2025 African championship in Rwanda.The Ghana Table Tennis Association has announced a provisional squad for the championships, comprising ten talented players. The men’s team includes Emmanuel Commey, Israel Aklie, James Marfo, Francis Antwi, and Godwin Alabi, while the women’s team features Cynthia Kwabi, Celia Baah-Danso, Bernice Borquaye, Eva Adom-Amankwaa, and Hilda Agbottah.
Coach David Senyo Ahiaba will lead the men’s team, with Coach Eva Ampah serving as his assistant and overseeing the women’s team. With their expertise and guidance, the Black Loopers are expected to perform well in the championships.
Ahead of the tournament, Team Ghana will be holding a mini camp to fine-tune their skills and strategies. The team is optimistic about sending a full squad to Nigeria, comprising the best players who will represent Ghana’s interests in the championships.
