The Ghana Esports Federation successfully organized the 2nd edition of Phygital Football, a unique blend of digital and physical football, on February 14-15, 2026, at the University of Ghana.
The tournament brought together 16 teams from across the country, showcasing their skills on both the console and the pitch.
In a thrilling finale, Wonder FC emerged victorious, defeating Elect FC with an aggregate score of 4-1. The team dominated on both the digital and physical stages, securing a 3-1 win on the console and a 1-0 win on the pitch.
The President of the Ghana Esports Federation, Igor Boumekpo, congratulated Wonder FC on their outstanding performance and encouraged them to begin preparations to represent Ghana on the global stage in Astana in 2026. He urged the team to intensify their training and remain disciplined as they face tougher international opponents.
Boumekpo also extended his appreciation to all participating teams, partners, organizers, officials, and supporters who contributed to the tournament’s success. He also emphasized that the growth of Phygital Football in Ghana is a collective effort and thanked everyone for believing in the vision.
