The Founders Day U11 Cup, organized by Hope in Boots with support from Nii Tech Prints, was a resounding success as it brought together eight juvenile clubs to compete for the top prize.

The event, held on Monday, 5th August, 2024, at the Mamprobi Semper Park in Accra, aimed to promote national unity, community engagement, and sportsmanship among young footballers.

The U11 final match between Golden Kick and Magic Stars was a thrilling encounter, with both teams creating scoring opportunities from the onset. However, it was Golden Kick’s Captain, Bright Agyepong (number 16 jersey), who scored the first goal, giving his team an early lead. The first half was filled with action, as Magic Stars attempted to penetrate Golden Kick’s defense through the right wing, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Golden Kick’s goalkeeper made several impressive saves, denying Magic Stars any scoring chances. At halftime, Golden Kick maintained their 1-0 lead, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

The second half saw both teams displaying quality football, with spectators thrilled by the skillful play. Despite missed opportunities, Golden Kick’s Mukim Bashiru scored their second goal through a rebound from a free kick, securing a 2-0 lead.

The young players of Golden Kick impressed the crowd with their exceptional speed and agility, leaving Magic Stars’ players struggling to keep up. Their outstanding performances contributed significantly to Golden Kick’s victory. As the final whistle blew, Golden Kick celebrated their 2-0 win over Magic Stars, claiming the Founders Day Cup title. 

The Founders Day Cup U11 final was an exciting display of youth football, with Golden Kick’s victory marking a memorable conclusion to the event. The success of the tournament highlights the importance of nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for them to showcase their skills.

As winners of the founders Day Cup, Golden Kick took home a decorated plaque.
