The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Hockey teams recorded their second consecutive victories at the ongoing Africa Cup for Club Championship (ACCC) in Harare, Zimbabwe, with commanding performances against host club Bulawayo.
In the men’s division, GRA continued their impressive start to the tournament with a dominant 8–1 victory over Bulawayo. Goals came from Henry, Opoku, Ignatius, Mohammed, and Luke, with Luke finding the back of the net twice to earn the Man of the Match award.
Speaking after the game, Luke emphasized the team’s focus and determination, “we are taking each game one step at a time. We remain focused and committed to the task ahead. We are happy with this win because it has boosted our morale going into the next game.”
In the women’s division, the Royal Ladies of GRA, who are the defending champions, also secured an important win against Bulawayo despite a tough start. The host team took an early lead, but captain Elizabeth Opoku rallied her side with an equalizer before adding two more goals to complete a brilliant hat-trick.
Vivian Narkuor added the fourth goal, while Mavis Berko sealed the victory with a brace, earning her the Woman of the Match accolade.

In her post-match interview, Mavis Berko acknowledged the challenge posed by the hosts but highlighted the team’s championship mindset, “Bulawayo really gave us a run for our money, but our vision to return the trophy to Ghana pushed us through. Our management, the playing body, and the entire country are behind us, and we made a promise to bring the trophy home. Champions don’t have it easy defending a title, but our teamwork and winning mentality earned us the victory and the three maximum points.”
The GRA Hockey teams will next face Hippo Hockey Club of Zimbabwe in their third group match as they continue their quest for continental glory.
