The Greater Accra Regional Sports Directorate of the National Sports Authority has taken a significant step in developing sports in Ghana by welcoming Coach Robert Weldon Dinkins III, an American youth football coach, to its offices.

Coach Dinkins, who represents the South Carolina Youth Football Association, an AAU Travel League in the United States, met with the Directorate to explore potential collaborations aimed at promoting sports development from the grassroots to the elite level.

During the meeting, both parties shared ideas on promoting and developing youth football through structured training programs, talent identification, and exchange initiatives.

The partnership seeks to open opportunities for young athletes in Ghana to benefit from exposure and professional development. The Directorate believes that this collaboration will have a lasting impact on the development of football in the region.

Mr. James Odoi Wilson, Regional Technical Director of the National Sports Authority, emphasized the importance of such partnerships in advancing sports development in Ghana.

“This collaboration is a major step in creating pathways for young Ghanaian talents to be trained, developed, and showcased on bigger platforms,” he stated. “We look forward to working closely with Coach Dinkins and his organization to make a lasting impact.”
