Scheduled Power Maintenance at Mallam BSP to Affect Accra Areas
The Ghana Grid Company (GridCo) has planned a maintenance operation at the Mallam Bulk Supply Point to enhance electricity delivery. The exercise is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, aiming to improve service reliability for consumers in the region.
During this period, several Accra communities will experience temporary power interruptions. Affected areas include Odorko, Awoshie, Sakaman, Mallam, Darkuman, Santa Maria, Kwashieman, Sowutuom, Ablekuma, Tarbora, Joma, Manhia, Gbawe, Weija, West Hills Mall, Oblogo, Aynaa, Boartianor, McCarthy Hills, Mandela, Sunda Industries, Tuba, Dunkonaa, and Dansoman.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) acknowledged the inconvenience this outage may cause to residents and businesses. The company emphasized its commitment to minimizing disruptions and ensuring power is restored as soon as GridCo completes the maintenance work.

GridCo and ECG have urged customers to plan accordingly for the scheduled outage and expressed appreciation for their understanding. The maintenance is an ongoing effort to strengthen Ghana’s power infrastructure for a more consistent electricity supply.
