The Advantage All TENNIS Women’s Empowerment (AATWE) Tourney marked a historic milestone on International Women’s Day, 2025, as it took center stage at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club courts on Saturday, 8th March, 2025. This pioneering event was made possible by Hajia Zenabu Sulemana, a trailblazing figure in African tennis and a board member of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF).
The AATWE Tourney was designed to bridge the gap in women’s sports empowerment, offering a comprehensive program that encompassed coaching, officiating, administration, and other essential skills.
The event drew an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including GTF Vice President Mr. Cedric Dzelu, GTF Secretary Mr. Yao Boni, and former Northern Regional Sports Development Director Ms. Salamatu Alhassan, underscoring the importance of women’s empowerment in sports.
Their presence underscored the importance of women’s empowerment in sports and lent credibility to the event. Through the AATWE Tourney, Hajia Zenabu Sulemana demonstrated her commitment to creating opportunities for women in sports to develop their skills, build their confidence, and take on leadership roles.
The event was a resounding success, with both able and wheelchair tennis players praising the organizers for providing a platform that combined sports competition with empowerment and skill-building.
